Why specialist care matters

A cheap top-up can become an expensive EV repair.

An electrically driven compressor can share its oil with a high-voltage motor winding. On many EVs, climate control is also part of the vehicle’s wider thermal-management strategy. We treat the system as engineering—not a can of gas.

01

Wrong compressor oil

The wrong oil type can reduce electrical insulation performance, affect lubrication and damage an electric compressor. We follow vehicle-specific data.

02

Wrong or contaminated refrigerant

Refrigerant type is identified before service. Mixing or cross-contamination can create poor performance and expensive remedial work.

03

Guessing the charge

Pressure alone does not tell you the correct charge. We recover, measure and recharge to the manufacturer’s specified weight.

04

Missing the real fault

Warm air can be caused by a leak, sensor, valve, pump, compressor, control or electrical issue. More gas is not always the answer.

Choose with confidence

Three packages. Each one has a clear purpose.

If the system still works but is not as cold, start with Standard. If performance is poor or intermittent, choose Standard Plus. If it does not work, has lost its charge or has a known fault, choose Comprehensive.

Standard

Precision A/C Service

For a working system that needs its cooling performance restored.

from£149
  • Vehicle and refrigerant specification check
  • Pre-service vent-temperature test
  • Refrigerant recovery and amount recorded
  • Vacuum cycle and automatic integrity check
  • Exact manufacturer-specified recharge
  • Correct electrically suitable oil as required
  • Final pressure and cooling-performance check
Select Standard
Comprehensive

Fault & Leak Investigation

For a non-working, empty or fault-reporting system where the cause must be proven.

from£349
  • Everything in Standard Plus
  • Advanced diagnostic fault investigation
  • Targeted leak investigation where accessible
  • Control, sensor and actuator assessment
  • Electric compressor/HV-related data review
  • Thermal-management relationship considered
  • Evidence-led repair plan and quotation route
Select Comprehensive

Transparent “from” pricing: final price is confirmed from the vehicle, refrigerant type and specified charge quantity. Parts, repairs, specialist refrigerants/heat-pump systems, additional leak-access labour and travel are quoted before work begins.

What happens at your appointment

Measured before. Controlled during. Proven after.

1

Identify

We confirm vehicle, refrigerant, charge weight, oil requirement and reported symptom.

2

Test

We record initial operation and complete the checks included in your chosen package.

3

Service

The refrigerant is recovered and measured, the circuit evacuated and recharged accurately.

4

Verify

We retest performance, explain the result and provide an evidence-led next step if needed.

Honest diagnosis

Not every warm A/C system needs a regas.

If the system is correctly charged, more refrigerant will not repair a sensor, valve, compressor, cooling fan, control or electrical fault. We would rather identify the cause once than sell you repeated recharges.

Tell us the symptoms

Book an assessment if you notice:

  • Air is cool but never properly cold
  • Cooling is slow or intermittent
  • Compressor or refrigerant-flow noise
  • Climate, heat-pump or electrical warnings
  • Charging or battery cooling is restricted
  • A previous regas did not last
Questions answered

Before you book.

Many EVs and hybrids use a high-voltage electric compressor. The refrigerant circuit can also support battery and power-electronics temperature control on some vehicles. Correct refrigerant, oil specification, quantity and clean service equipment therefore matter.

No. We recover and measure what is in the system, evacuate it, carry out the checks included in your package, then recharge by weight to the vehicle specification. If the system is not cooling because of a fault, our diagnostic packages investigate rather than repeatedly adding refrigerant.

We identify the vehicle specification before connection and use the correct supported refrigerant and manufacturer-specified electrically suitable compressor oil. We do not assume that every EV uses the same oil.

We stop before charging the system, explain the result and agree the next step with you. Refrigerant is not a repair for a leaking component. The Comprehensive package is best where a leak or system fault is already suspected.

On many EVs and hybrids the thermal-management system uses the refrigerant circuit to help control battery temperature, particularly during rapid charging or demanding conditions. The exact design varies by vehicle.

We first identify the vehicle, refrigerant and system design. Heat-pump and specialist refrigerant systems are assessed individually, and we confirm compatibility and price before work begins.

No. Package prices cover the listed tests and service work. Parts, component repairs, unusually large refrigerant quantities and additional labour are quoted before proceeding.

Allow approximately 60 to 90 minutes for Standard, up to two hours for Standard Plus and longer for Comprehensive diagnosis depending on the fault and vehicle access.
