When a customer understands the basic job of a component, the diagnostic conversation becomes more honest. A warning light does not automatically mean the most expensive part has failed, and a single code should not be treated as the whole diagnosis.

Our aim is to explain what the vehicle is trying to protect, what symptoms matter, and what evidence is needed before replacing parts.

What diagnosis should prove

Good fault finding follows evidence, not panic.

Helpful details before you call

  • Vehicle make, model, year, mileage and battery percentage when the fault happened.
  • Exact warning message on the dashboard or charging screen.
  • Whether the issue is constant, intermittent, after charging, after rain, or after a 12V battery event.
  • Any diagnostic report, fault codes, MOT notes or previous repair attempts.

When to stop driving or charging

  • Burning smell, heat marks at the charge port, coolant leak, or repeated charging cut-outs.
  • Red high-voltage warning, stop safely warning, isolation warning, or vehicle will not go ready.
  • 12V battery repeatedly going flat, contactors clicking repeatedly, or sudden loss of drive power.
  • After accident damage, underbody impact, flooding, or suspected high-voltage cable damage.
